We started the year at the Summer Meeting in St. Charles. We then went to the combination Region 6/Fall BOD Meeting in Sioux Falls, SD, it was a great meeting as all Region meetings are.
We then hosted the Nebraska Senate for the MO/NE football game in Columbia. Then it was the MO/IL basketball game – way to go Tigers.
Winter Meeting saw our elections at the Lake and then we hosted the Region 6 Spring Meeting at the Henry the VIII Hotel in St. Louis as a warm-up for National Convention. The State Convention was in May in Kansas City where we started a new tradition of sponsoring the annual awards program for the Missouri Jaycees.
Much of the year was spent planning for the National Convention 95, as the Missouri Senate was the hosting state. Who would have guessed we would be back in the same hotel celebrating Missouri’s 25th Anniversary.
It was also the beginning of the “Three Amigos” - Larry Kenney #32967, Jim Mitchell #41857, and Denny Lambert #47947. They were well trained and gave the Missouri Senate excellent leadership over the next three years.
My pledge to the Senate when I was elected President was to keep meetings short, have fun, and make the National Convention one of the best. We were able to do that and I would like to again thank everyone who worked to support these efforts during my year as President.
